Italian summer - Forte dei Marmi

And my dream came true! :D
Last year, I've been for the first time in Florence, and... I totally felt in love with this city <3 So, my dream since last year, was to come again in this wonderful and magic city.
And here I am :)

Moje marzenie się spełniło! :D
No i jestem :)

Ponte Vecchio
There are so many great places in Italy, that this year, I will do what I did last year: visit also other cities.
On the second day after my arrival in Florence, I went to visit a friend in Forte dei Marmi. The city is just 1,5 hour by train from Florence. It was a good occasion to pop up my fresh new buy --> my new Guess bag :P

Unfortunately, the weather was a bit cloudy and changing a lot... But we had no rain ;)

The name "Forte dei Marmi" means: Fort of marbles. In 1788, the Grand Duke of Tuscany Pietro Leopold I of Lorena, started to build a fort (Forte Lorense) to defend the marble shipments and promote the territory. It was an important defense point against pirates and it was also used as a deposite for the marbles coming from the Apuane mountains and destined to be shipped out of the sea. Since then, the city started to be known as "Forte dei Marmi".

Nazwa "Forte dei Marmi" znaczy: Fort marmurów. W 1788r, Wielki Książe Toskanii Pietro Leopold I z Loreny, rozpoczął budowanie fortu (Fort Lorense) w celu obronienia statków przewożących marmur i wypromowania  obszaru.

Forte dei Marmi is also known as the italian Sain-Tropez. A cosy city center, big and comfortable beaches , good restaurants, nice stores... Everything to make that the high society and the artists want to live here :) Some of them are/was: the Siemens family, the german writer Thomas Mann, the british sculptor Henry Moore, the rock singer Zucchero, the fashion designer Giorgio Armani and many noble families.

Przytulne miasteczko, duże i wygodne plaże, dobre restauracje i fajne sklepy... Czyli wszystko co potrzeba by wyższa sfery i artyści chcieli tu mieszkać :) Kilka przykładów: Rodzina Siemens, niemiecki pisarz Thomas Mann, brytyjski rzeźbiarz Henry Moore, piosenkarz rockowy Zucchero, projektant Giorgio Armani i wiele szlachetnych rodzin.
